Florida Firefighter/Captain and Member of the House of Representatives Matt Willhite joined us to talk about why he sponsored a Bill that eventually became Law, protecting first responders from a silent killer, PTSD. Willhite talks about what he sees as a firefighter, father, husband and lawmaker that drove him to champion this new law.
Beginning October 1, 2018 Florida First Responders will now be able to receive treatment for one of the fastest growing occupational hazards in the field, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). A Firefighter is more likely to die at his/her own hands than on the scene of a fire. This new Law sets out to change that, join us for a great conversation about how our Florida heros are now being rescued.
